What is a pot de crème?

Dating to the Middle Ages, a pot de crème (English: pot of cream) is a loose French dessert custard traditionally served in small containers or jars, which is what we use. It nearly shares the same texture of a pudding, only thicker and creamier.

How is pot de crème made?

Once all the ingredients are weighed, we heat up the milk, cream and solid ingredients (sugar and salt). When the temperature is high enough, we add the eggs and the specific flavorings of each pot de crème such as our dark chocolate or our California lemon juice. After cooking for an additional few minutes, the crème is poured into glass jars and rushed into our fridges to be refrigerated and cooled. And voila!

What a marvelous taste and texture!!
OMG! My family loves your Petit Pot, vanilla bean creamy French dessert. It is so so good. We’re all just having these big smiles on her faces. I haven’t tried the dark chocolate yet but my mom says it’s wonderful. Those are the only two flavors the store had, but I’m gonna look around for the pistachio and rice pudding to see what they’re like.
I highly recommend these desserts. Try them. I’m sure you’ll love them too.

The BEST!
I never do reviews but this was a must! I’ve been eating Petit Pot for several years but just having had oral surgery, this hits different! The only wish I have is that my local Publix would carry more Petit Pot varieties! Best dessert available! Restaurant quality right in the fridge! An absolute lifesaver while healing!

These were absolutely delicious! We all loved them, they were so creamy and not overly sweet. Not exactly a pudding, not exactly a custard. The littles gobbled them up and got a kick out of the cute little glass jars! While I fully expected to have everyone only want the chocolate, I found that the vanilla was a huge hit in my house! Friends that sampled as well asked me if I could get a hold of more coupons, so safe to say, these fantastic, yummy little treats! (source: Moms Meet)
